My cousin Sara got married yesterday. I was a Bridesmaid, Tyler was the Ring Bearer, Hannah was a Flower Girl and Jason was an Usher! We had a VERY busy weekend. The kids were SO good! They had to wear uncomfy clothing, sit for long periods of time, be quiet, wait, and finally SMILE! Tyler caught the garter at the reception. This was his version of the event...."I didnt even want it, but someone tried to grab it and hit it towards me....it fell right in front of me so I said 'oh well' and picked it up." We laughed and laughed about that! Hannah was a dancing machine-she danced forever! They were pretty excited to see their first "concert"--a local band Didi and the Farrows played. They are a 50's and 60's tribute band--its was a lot of fun! Chris plays in a popular band as well-Judd Hoos- (we are SUPERFANS!) and they were able to get up on stage and play a few songs. About 10pm...after being dressed up for over 11 hours....the kids were exhausted--and Grandma Shirley came and picked them up! (Thanks!!! :)) There are a lot of pictures here...but these things dont happen every day!

And this is how we ended the night....

Oh, and Guess What???
Something DID give..........I was offered a position with the State today! Eeeeeeeeeee!! Child Protection-Abuse Investigator. Not a glamorous job by any means, but someone has to do it, right! The salary and benefits are just what we have been praying for and I start next Thursday!

Dolphins?
Since Ive agreed that this is OUR blog and not MY blog, I should be fair and post about Jasons fishing trip. Him and a few friends went to Yankton on the eastern side of the state to Paddle Fish. He was so proud of himself....he was the only one out of all four of them to catch a thing. He caught 4 PaddleFish--but he couldnt keep any of them. It is spawning season for Paddle Fish but there werent a lot there, they must be a tad off their menstrual cycle this year! When I was a little girl, I remember going to Intake to see the Paddle Fish, I swear they were just like dolphins!
This one didnt have a paddle....weird
There were boats everywhere and people lined up one next to each other on the shore
He also caught this Garr

Planning. Details. Budgets. Insanity.
We have a wedding website now. Its still pretty blank...as we really have no plans set yet.
Weddings are difficult. We both have already been married before. I cant justify spending money on a wedding that is A. EXPENSIVE and B. for a ONE DAY only event. Id rather finish remodeling or buy new furniture. :)
Every girl dreams of a big fancy wedding--but I have to be realistic here. A small family wedding with a formal dinner afterwards sounds good to me.
A traditional wedding is definitely not in the cards for us anyway--he wants to wear a red tux with flames on it. (Yes, Im serious!) And I want to wear a black dress. We dont want to have a wedding party, instead, the kids will stand up for us. Stamps are expensive.....are e-vites out of the question?? LOTS to think of......maybe we should just elope!
